Engagement Synopsis

Collaboration goals: Project 1 team will engage in design thinking process (Gibbons; 2016) to respond to the request for proposals (RFP) from the client, C Evans Consulting. Objectives: Achievement of Human Resource Management (HRM) course learning outcomes (objectives): (1.) Identify and analyze challenges faced by diverse group of people inside modern formal organizations (3.) Apply design thinking to address individual, group, and organization level issues (4.) Collaborate and perform effectively on diverse teams (5.) Communicate strategically and professionally based on purpose and target audience Key Milestones:
  • Establish RFP details: communicate as a team and with the client to understand the RFP and define the issue/topic (empathize, define stages of design thinking)
  • Draft prototype proposal: brainstorm ideas based on quality and evidence-based sources, create prototype, present to client for feedback (ideate, prototype, test stages of design thinking)
  • Create proposal: implement feedback to create proposal that meets the client’s needs, present to client in suitable media/mode

    Proposal details:

    C Evans Consulting seeks input on social learning opportunities for government agencies with the following driving questions:
    (1) What does C Evans do as a business, and what is HR Learn?
    (2) What is social learning, and what are the opportunities and considerations for social learning related to training and development?
    (3) Who are the key players in the social learning space, including anyone doing this for government?
    (4) What are some current best practices of social learning?
    (5) Are there case studies you could use to highlight a success story or two?
    (6) How can HR Learn be a leader in social learning?

    (1) What does C Evans do as a business, and what is HR Learn?
    (2) What is social learning, and what are the opportunities and considerations for social learning related to training and development?
    (3) Who are the key players in the social learning space, including anyone doing this for government?

  • April 29, 2021 - Prototype (draft) proposal: Project 2 - - Ways HR Learn Might Utilize Social Learning for Government Agencies

    Collaborate as a team and communicate with client to create a prototype of the proposal. The prototype will be based on the one-pager from the previous stage, which has been confirmed by the client.

     


    Suggested Deliverable:

    Prototype (draft) proposal

    Draft and present prototype (draft) proposal to client by

    • brainstorming ideas based on quality and evidence-based sources,
    • creating a prototype, and
    • presenting to client for feedback
    • recording and confirming client feedback

    Design thinking stages: ideate, prototype, test

  • May 11, 2021 - Implement: Project 2 - - Ways HR Learn Might Utilize Social Learning for Government Agencies

    Implement findings from previous stage to create and present a proposal. Communicate with client, as needed.


    Suggested Deliverable:

    Week of May 4 and 6, develop deliverable, practice presentations, receive feedback from another team and instructor.
